• While no formal state sponsored programs exist, Kentucky’s HB179 was enacted on April 5, 2024, which authorized insurers in the state to provide family leave and disability income insurance. Employers are not required to provide family leave insurance to employees and may continue to do so voluntarily.

• The family leave insurance may provide benefits to employees while they bond with a new child, take care of a family member, or tend to matters related to a family member’s active duty military deployment.
